Koala is an aboriginal animal of the Australian continent. These animals are very similar to small bears. Even the first Europeans, who landed on the continent, called the animal “Koala bear”. But after a while, the koala was separated into a separate family. Koalas are thought to live up to the age of around 20 years old in the wild, though this may vary in captivity. The word koala is thought to be Aboriginal, and it is said to mean ‘no drink’.

Amazing Facts About the Koala Koalas are nocturnal marsupials famous for spending most of their lives asleep in trees. During the day they doze, tucked into forks or nooks in the trees, sleeping for up to 18 hours.
